Blog for Digs is the brainchild of Claudia Clobes, in support of Dwell with Dignity. It's a fundraising effort to raise awareness and money for the non-profit group that pairs designers and volunteers to provide safe and well designed spaces for families dealing with homelessness and poverty. The project involves bloggers describing their childhood bedrooms. Donations for Dwell with Dignity are accepted here.
My Childhood Bedroom
My childhood bedroom was constantly changing and evolving. I was very into having a themed room. The Smurfs, Care Bears, Pound Puppies and Barbie were huge when I was growing up. One year I painted my entire bedroom Smurf blue. My mom and I found Smurf sheets at Kmart and she made me curtains to match the bed! Looking back I realize that my bedroom was a complete reflection upon my adolescent moods. Pretty cool that my mom supported my creativity.

I wish my bedroom had a more cohesive design and matching furniture. It may have been best to stick with one color and just change the accessories when I wanted to. I think pink is the perfect color for teenage girls.
