The Heights at Park Lane - Kent Rathbun's Pad

There is a new mixed-use development in Dallas located off of Northwest Highway and Central Expressway called Park Lane. It has a variety of retail shops and restaurants, as well as apartments and condos. (A new, landmark Whole Foods just opened up recently in the development.)

While searching for images of the residential units at Park Lane, I stumbled across pictures of Kent Rathbun's place (above). Kent is a local celebrity here in Dallas. He is a chef and restaurateur. He was also an Iron Chef Champion. Anyway, his residence is gorgeous. Love the chandelier over the dining table. I can't tell exactly, but my guess is that's a Viking range in his kitchen. I especially love the patio.

Kent, you can invite me over for dinner and drinks anytime.

Home Project - Corner

I decided a corner in my home needed some updating. A quick trip to Target and I had a spruced up, more modern corner. I am still searching for the right accessory to add to the table.

Bravo's 9 by design

Bravo's newest design show is 9 by design. I caught the tail end of it on Tuesday night. I was hooked! Luckily they re-ran the same episode again so I was able to catch the whole show. I love the personalities of Bob and Courtney. But their design work is superb! It's on Tuesdays 10/9 central.

APA New Orleans

I had the pleasure of attending the American Planning Association's annual conference in New Orleans. Actually I was a speaker, my first at a national conference. The conference went very well but my favorite part was exploring the City of New Orleans. The architecture and life of the city always amazes me. I was able to participate in a mobile workshop where we visited three neighborhoods all in different stages of revitalization. It was a very informative trip.

Favorite Things - April

April is my Birthday month and that means I typically splurge a little on myself. Yesterday I picked up a few things from Sephora.


YSL Golden Gloss in Cinnamon. It has tiny golden sparkles (contains 0.2% of 24 carat gold) that really make the lip pop. Most lip glosses tend to dry out my lips but this gloss has nourishing oils to help protect them.


Of course I had to try a new mascara, BADgal has received a number of good reviews. I applied some this morning and my lashes look great.
