I discovered 81 Poppies on Twitter recently. I love twitter for so many reasons, mainly for its ability to connect people. As you all know by now I am passionate about fashion but even more passionate about supporting women in business and local businesses. Which is why I wanted to profile the 81 Poppies clothing line today.
81 Poppies's designer, Michelle Wesiman, is from Houston and resides in Austin with her husband. From her website - "The 81Poppies brand personifies modern, feminine, cool and sexy women from around the globe. The collection is a study in contrast, that juxtaposes feminine details and vintage-inspired prints with classic menswear inspired pieces. With her meticulous eye for detail and love for color and pattern, Michelle is dedicated to making clothes that stand the test of time and that make women feel confident about themselves."
I especially love her use of colors and prints. I always look for clothing that can easily be worn for work and play. I think 81 Poppies captures that concept very well.
