Review - Nars Etrusque

Gold is big for the Fall! I am seeing gold everywhere. Nars has the most enticing shimmery shadow...Étrusque. It's an antique gold. There is almost a liquid gold quality to it. Just beautiful for creating a warm eye palette. It's a limited edition color, so if you are intrigued I would pop into your local Sephora, stat!

Copycat - Celine vs Zara

The Zara Shopper resembles the "It Bag" for 2011, the Celine Boston. Zara added a bit of suede to their bag which gives it a unique detail. And for $89 its a steal compared to the Celine.

Review - Rahua

The Rahua hair care line was recommended to me by my stylist - mainly because its great for those of us that color. It's extremely nourishing! I've used the shampoo and conditioner but I am really curious to try the finishing treatment too. With the extreme heat we are having here in Texas, my poor hair and scalp needed some TLC.

What is so noteworthy about this product line, is that it contains rahua oil from the rahua nut, which is only found in the Amazon rain forest.  The oil is very potent - it's able to penetrate the hair strand deeply - offering extreme hydration. (No frizzies.) The shampoo also contains sea salt to improve scalp circulation. The results are very luxurious. My hair has never felt and looked better!

Currently Coveting - McQueen Card Case

Review - FarmHouse Fresh

I swear I had no idea that these bath products were endorsed by the "Great One" herself. FHF was among Oprah's favorite things in 2007. A local boutique had a huge display and I was immediately drawn to the cute, vintagey packaging that reminded me of an antique general store. I was most intrigued by two of their products.

Bourbon Bubbler Body Scrub - Oh my! This is a great smelling scrub - sweet, rich, gingery and pecan scented. It is also an exceptional pre-tan exfoliator. None of their products have any parabens, mineral oils or sulfates.

Strawberry Smash - I didn't know whether to spread this on me or on my toast. It really does resemble strawberries and cream. It's very moisturizing and the scent is not overpowering. The secret to the skin softening success of this double moisturizer is live strawberry cells combined with a sweet cream body whip.

What I bought @: Sephora

Front Row (L to R): Smashbox Jet Set Waterproof Eye Liner and Anastasia Brow Pencil
Back Row (L to R): Makeup For Ever HD Foundation and Lavanila Body Butter
Perk: Lorac 3D Mascara

I ran to Sephora at lunch the other day to pick up Benefit's new mascara, They're Real. I was late to the game and they were totally out. I decided not to be too sad and pick up a few items I had on my list. The Make Up For Ever foundation comes highly recommended so I was matched for that. I am loving the coverage of it, as well as the fact that I feel like I have no foundation on at all. My other favorite is the Lavanila lotion. I received a number of compliments on the fragrance so far. So yummy! I also love the all natural ingredients it has - those seem hard to come by these days.

Missoni for Target - September 13th

I absolutely adore the carry-on bag from the newest Target/Missoni colloboration. Dying over all the bold colors.

I will be landing in Dallas from my vacation on September 13th. I will head straight from DFW to Target. Maybe stopping at Taco Diner  - which is customary in my house after a vacation. I fear the collection will go fast! I am sure the bike will sell out in 10 and then you can find them over at ebay with the price all jacked up.

Review - TruMelange Candle

I was at Whole Foods over the weekend and I "accidentally" (yeah, right) stumbled into their beauty section. While browsing the moisturizers and shampoos for any new products that may interest me, my attention turned towards the candles. I have a few upcoming trips scheduled and I needed a new travel candle for the sometimes-stinky hotel rooms.  I instantly gravitated towards the TruMelange candle tin. The Harmony candle is an amazing mixture of vanilla and peppermint. It reminds me of peppermint ice cream. It was energizing (peppermint) and relaxing (vanilla) all at the same time.

This line of candles contains 100% pure essential oils, soy and beeswax. They claim that the beeswax provides allergy and asthma relief and emit negative ions, which help purify the air.  All I know is that the candle smells heavenly.

Review - Byredo La Tulipe

Tulips have always been one of my favorite flowers. However, the fact that they are so beautiful yet don't have much of an aroma is frustrating. When you bring home flowers from the market, you want to catch a light scent as you walk by them.

Byredo Parfums has crafted a perfume which does a very good job of capturing what I think a tulip would smell like. Top notes are fressia and rhubarb - with a hint of Spring. In fact La Tulipe reminds me of Spring. It's very light, floral and a tad earthy. Very lovely. It's available at Barneys.

Product Junkie I am

I have a confession - friend-to-friend, blogger-to-blogger - I am a product junkie. I am obsessed with products - not just makeup but creams, lotions, potions, tools, tips, tricks - you name it and I have tried it.  I realized this recently because of my overflowing bathroom drawers and shelves but also because this blog has become more about beauty products and makeup than anything else. I apologize if you come to my little corner of the internets for something over than beauty products. For the time being, I will be blogging more about makeup and products, then anything else.

Review - Clarisonic Mia

I cannot say enough wonderful and amazing things about my Clarisonic Mia. Words cannot describe how truly great this little device is. Which is why I think my friend and fellow beauty blogger, Gnomesdeplume, has the best idea - don't use words, let the pictures speak for themselves. Hop on over to her site and take a look for yourselves!

Review - Summer Products

It's really hot here in Texas. Like, "Oh my god I might just melt", hot! We've had 30 some odd days of over 100 degrees. It's bad.

These Yes to Cucumbers towelettes are SO refreshing. I have used at least two of these babies every day to help stay fresh during the heat wave. I really like the smell too and I am not normally a big cucumber fan.

You know when you go to the spa, and they have the pitcher of water with the sliced cucumbers in it? Well these wipes are like dipping a towel in the water and then wiping your face with it. Ok, that's a little unsanitary......like applying chilled, fresh cucumber slices all over your face....that's better!

I was skeptical about the promises made by Frederic Fekkai Marine Summer Hair Beach waves. I was really skeptical when the bottle read, "apply to dry hair." However because this product contains "marine waters" it actually does what it sets out to. It creates a surf-sexy texture. The sea kelp enhanced formula blocks moisture loss for tousled waves. It also has a UV shield and smells really nice. It's a limited edition product so if you are interested I would pick some up soon.

Essie Geranium is a very pretty orangey-red. Red is my fav nailpolish for hands and feet but sometimes I think its too dark for summer. This color is a nice compromise for those of us who love red nails but need a little change in the summer months.
