Review - Morocanoil Curl Defining Cream

For the last 10 years (I am not exaggerating...seriously 10) I have been looking for a product that does everything that Morocanoil Curl Defining Cream does for my hair.  I have naturally wavy hair that I like to wear wavy from time to time. I tend to be lazy when it comes to my hair so I was searching for a hair product that I could apply to my damp hair, that would control frizz and promote the natural wave. Every product I tried before Morocanoil did not deliver. This is now my Holy Grail.

I applied the product last night to my slightly damp hair. I did blow dry my hair a little bit then climbed into bed and - VIOLA, when I woke up this morning I had perfectly wavy, none-frizzy hair. I added a small amount of Aveda Style Prep Smoother to the ends of my hair and a little hairspray too to set the hair. Next time I think I will use a diffuser when I blow dry and see how that works.

The Morocanoil line of products is not easy to find. I went to Ulta, Sephora and Nordstroms and neither of them carry the products. Crazy! So I called my stylist and she said they just started carrying it at her salon. It is pricey but it is also a huge bottle so hopefully it lasts me awhile.

I am really liking all of designer, Rebecca Minkoff's bags lately. The bags have such a great level of detail yet are pratical enough for every day use. She recently had a sample sale in NY - I would died to have been there! Check out these great photos of the sale.

Chevron print is everywhere these days. Mainly on home interior items like rugs and pillows. Do you like the chevron trend enough to wear it??

Copycat - Pippa Middleton

We all have black in our closets - black is definitely the dominant color in my closet. I thank Pippa for reminding me that black and blue go so well together. The dark blue Kate Spade bag is so gorgeous!

A tuxedo blazer is the perfect way to dress up any outfit. I would rock the blazer with a sequin dress, tights and booties - perfect outfit for New Years Eve.

Designer Spotlight - 81 Poppies

I discovered 81 Poppies on Twitter recently. I love twitter for so many reasons, mainly for its ability to connect people. As you all know by now I am passionate about fashion but even more passionate about supporting women in business and local businesses. Which is why I wanted to profile the 81 Poppies clothing line today.

81 Poppies's designer, Michelle Wesiman, is from Houston and resides in Austin with her husband. From her website - "The 81Poppies brand personifies modern, feminine, cool and sexy women from around the globe. The collection is a study in contrast, that juxtaposes feminine details and vintage-inspired prints with classic menswear inspired pieces. With her meticulous eye for detail and love for color and pattern, Michelle is dedicated to making clothes that stand the test of time and that make women feel confident about themselves."

I especially love her use of colors and prints. I always look for clothing that can easily be worn for work and play. I think 81 Poppies captures that concept very well.

Currently Coveting - Nine West Leopard Booties

I really like these Nine West Leopard booties. I keep thinking about them and how pretty they are. Yet I can't seem to "add to bag". What the heck is wrong with me? Am I being too practical? Does someone want to convince me? Good investment or should I pass?
